Cancer Free 2morrow Campaign at Schools
The campaign for a cancer free tomorrow in schools at Coimbatore organised by Vasantha Memorial Trust in the last 20 days was intense and extensive. Over 34 sessions, 6400 students from 10 different schools have been addressed by Mrs.Meenakshi Selvaraj and Rajaraman with occasional presence by more volunteers. The school authorites have been extremely cooperative and at some schools they have seen that every student in the school is exposed to this campaign. The campaigners have had the stamina to conduct as much as 6 sessions covering close to 2000 students at the Krishnammal school on a single day. At Annai Velankanni school it went further, so impressed were the authorities that they asked for a session for the teachers after the speakers had students over 6 sessions and the speakers did that. The response indicated the longing for a cancer free tomorrow is surely there and is quite stong ...
